Jungels wins the ninth stage of the Tour on the run ahead of Castroviejo and Verona

The Luxembourgian cyclist Bob Jungels (Ag2r-Citröen) won this Sunday the ninth stage of the Tour de France, 192.9 kilometers between Aigle and Chatel les Portes du Soleil after completing the breakaway of the day and entering alone ahead of the Spaniards Jonathan Castroviejo (Ineos Grenadiers) and Carlos Verona (Movistar Team).

Jungels attacked the Col de la Croix, first category, to march alone followed by Frenchman Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ), who gave up in the last section to finish fourth.

Behind, the Slovenian leader Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) crossed the finish line at 48 seconds, with the Danish Jonas Vingegaard at the wheel (Jumbo-Visma), to scratch a few seconds from the peloton and extend his advantage at the head of the yellow jersey.
