The Betic forward Juanmi he achieved the first hat-trick of his professional career this Sunday against Levante (after 295 games) and becomes the top national scorer, with eight goals in LaLiga (he scored another on matchday 1 against Mallorca, which the referee recorded Manolo Reina’s own goal in the minutes) and becomes the fourth footballer from Malaga in history to make a triplet in the First Division (after Fernando Hierro, Kepa and Javi Guerra) and the fourth to achieve it in the 21st century with the Real Betis (after Oliveira, Dani and Joaquín).
Juanmi is also the most effective striker of the five major European leagues -of those who have scored five or more goals-, as 44.4% of his shots have ended in goals. In the five major European leagues, Ben Yedder (43.8% accuracy on goal), Giovanni Simeone (42.9%), Jonathan David (33.3%) and Erling Haaland (31, 3%), according to Fran Martínez (@LaLigaEnNumeros).
Two goals in the Europa League
Juanmi, apart from the 8 goals he has scored in LaLiga (plus another from the goalkeeper’s own goal in Mallorca) and an assist (to Borja Iglesias against Valencia), has scored another two goals in the Europa League, for which he adds a total out of 10, which is the second best scoring mark of his career, since that figure only surpassed it in the 2016/17 campaign at Real, when he scored 15 goals (11 in the League and 4 in the Cup) in the full season. Now barely a third has been exceeded.
