Juan González, new coach of the ‘Leonas’ XV

MADRID, 20 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The coach Juan González has become this Wednesday the new Spanish women’s coach, as reported by the Spanish Rugby Federation (FER) after the decision of José Antonio Barrio ‘Yunque’ to “voluntarily” leave the position.

In this way, the FER has chosen to give the position to Juan González Morocco, who has been its second coach in recent years, and currently directs the Club Deportivo Rugby Mairena, of the Division of Honor B.

In addition, Juan González has also directed the previous two seasons in the Burgos Rugby Surveyors, of the Liga de División de Honor, and now he will be in charge of leading this new cycle that begins for the Spanish XV Women’s National Team.

He will do it in coordination with Raúl Pérez, the recently appointed technical director of XV, and Mar Álvarez, responsible for the physical preparation of all national teams, in addition to the academies and the refereeing group, as well as the ‘staff’ that González Morocco himself will make and announce in the next dates.

“Juan González has spent a large part of his sports life at the Sciences of Seville, first as a player, a stage in which he became an international with the XV del León, and later as a coach,” recalls the FER.

“From the Spanish Rugby Federation (FER) we can only have words of recognition and gratitude for José Antonio Barrio ‘Yunque’ for the great work done at the head of the Leonas XV and wish him the best of luck in his future,” the statement concludes.
