Joventut terminates its coach Carles Duran

The Joventut Badalona Club announced this Monday the termination of the contract of its hitherto first team coach Carles Duran, with whom they have reached an agreement to terminate the contract that united both parties until the end of next season and with the aim of achieving a turning point.

“Given the need to reverse the dynamic and considering that it was the best for the imminent future of the team, the club and the coach have reached an agreement to end the relationship that united them until June 2025,” announced the ‘Penya’ in a statement.

The green-black entity remembers that Carles Duran took charge of the team in one of the entity’s most difficult moments, at the beginning of 2018, and they thank him for his work with the team since then.

“His arrival was a shock and he managed to get the team out of the relegation zone and achieve salvation from the category when it seemed impossible. Since that moment the team has continued to grow until reaching almost unthinkable goals,” highlighted Joventut.

Throughout the six seasons in which he has coached the first team, 13 players from the youth team have debuted with Joventut under his direction, in a sign of the importance that the basis for a Duran that has always had, has and will always have. He was a youth coach before joining the first team.

“From Club Joventut Badalona we want to thank Carles for everything he has done for our entity. It has been more than two decades defending the interests of Penya, both in his first stage and in this second,” the club noted in the statement.
