Joventut opens the reinforcements with the ‘4’ Henry Ellenson

BARCELONA, 7 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The American player Henry Ellenson, 25 years old and 2.08 meters tall, is the first signing of Club Joventut Badalona for the following season, a club he joins from Monbus Obradoiro and with whom he will sign for the next two seasons.

“The first addition of the summer is now official. Henry Ellenson, a 25-year-old American power forward who arrives after a season at Monbus Obradoiro, is now a new player for Club Joventut Badalona,” announced the club.

The ‘Penya’ and Ellenson have reached an agreement for the next two seasons. The one from Rice Lake (Wisconsin) is a power forward with a good hand who can also play as a ‘5’, with the ability to play open and take advantage of his outside threat.

He trained as a player in the United States and went through Marquette University in his only year in the NCAA. As a member of the Marquette Golden Eagles, Ellenson averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds per game, being part of the best 5 in the Big East Conference.


He has NBA experience, having played four seasons between 2016 and 2020. Chosen at number 16 in the 2016 Draft by the Detroit Pistons, the American played 81 games in the best league in the world.

Last year, in his debut in Europe and in the ACN, he had a great season at Monbus Obradoiro –11.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game–, with a 50.9 percent shooting success rate. 2 and 80.9% shooting from free throws.
