The director of Club Joventut Badalona Xavier Villanueva has passed away, as reported by the entity on Thursday, and leaves an “irreparable void” in a club where he worked for the development of youth and women’s basketball.
“The entire Club Joventut Badalona family is in mourning and dismayed by the unexpected and sudden loss of our counselor Xavier Villanueva,” the green-and-black club reported.
Villanueva joined the Board of Directors with the arrival of Juanan Morales as president, being a key player in the development of women’s basketball and training basketball in Badalona and the ‘Penya’.
The green and black club highlighted its “fundamental role” in the success of the Copa del Rey held in our city, at the Badalona Olympic Stadium, last February.
“All of us who have had the good fortune to know him, remain with great memories of an excellent person who has always wanted to help everyone around him, a great worker and a fighter who has made an effort every day to improve and do grow his club”, valued the ‘Penya’.
In these “so devastating” moments, Club Joventut Badalona sent Villanueva’s family all its esteem and affection for his loss, which leaves an “irreparable void” in the club.
