Jovane Cabral keeps Sporting third

A solitary goal from the young Cape Verdean Jovane Cabral, one of the sensations of Sporting de Portugal in this final stretch of the Portuguese League, he gave victory to the verdiblancos against the Santa Clara (1-0).

The 22-year-old forward scored the only goal of the match in the 66th minute, when he went ahead of the rival defense inside the area and hunted a center by the Brazilian Wendel with his left foot.

Cabral scored his sixth goal in the competition league this season, the fifth since it resumed after the break, and confirmed his great form.

The bad news for the “lions” came in the field of injuries, since the Argentinean Acuña had to leave the field of play in the 84th minute due to physical problems, with the scope not known for now.

The result keeps Sporting in third place in the League with 59 points, six advantage over Braga, and leaves Santa Clara tenth with 38, already saved and without European aspirations, with three days to go. The verdiblancos will play the “classic” against Porto next day, which is only one point away from becoming the league champion.
