Jose Luis Martínez-Almeida informed Begoña Villacís of the death of her brother: “The mayor called her”

The worst news came for Begoña Villacis this Tuesday with the shooting of her brother Borja on the Fuencarral-El Pardo highway in Madrid. This portal spoke with the former vice mayor of Madrid after the terrible news: “I’m with my parents at the moment (…) I can’t talk much because I’m waiting for the police to call”she told us, tremendously affected by what happened, in a telephone conversation in which she answered us with a broken voice.

This Wednesday they revealed in Public mirror How Ciudadanos politics received the news: “The mayor of Madrid himself called Begoña Villacís”explained Luis Fernando Durán on Susana Griso’s program. “He told her about the death of her brother”the journalist has insisted on the politics of Ciudadanos, who was also former number 2 of Almeida himself in the Madrid council until June of last year after the electoral debacle of the orange party.

Borja died at the age of 41 this Tuesday, June 4, after receiving several bullets to the head and chest in broad daylight. The alleged murderers, who fled in his car after the shooting, are identified and belong to a clan based in Bargas (Toledo), related to drug trafficking. Those responsible for the investigation believe that the motive for the homicide is revenge for a debt that the victims supposedly owed to the attackers’ organization.

Not two hours had passed since the murder when a 52-year-old woman who, according to police sources, is the mother of one of the executioners of Begoña Villacís’s brother was arrested.

Borja, the youngest of Begoña’s brothers, was linked to the Real Madrid radical group Ultras Sur since his university days. He recently attended the funeral of a band member. 20 years ago he was arrested accused of brutally attacking a young man. He and others arrested were sentenced to six months in prison. And now, in 2024, he was accused in a case for drug trafficking and large-scale money laundering in the Central Court of Instruction number 5 of the National Court (supposedly for a cocaine theft in Valencia). It is unknown if his death is related to these events. The agents in charge of the case aim for a settling of scores. Both his vehicle and that of the shooters were from rental companies.
