MADRID, 3 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The cyclist José Joaquín Rojas, from the Movistar Team, has received the ‘Gregarious’ 2021 award, awarded by The League of Gregarious Club, promoted by the former cyclist and ‘coach’ Luis Pasamontes, in a ceremony presided over by the director of La Vuelta, Javier Guillén, and held this Thursday at the Círculo Bellas Artes in Madrid.

These awards highlight the work of those who are critical to achieving goals and strive for others. The Gregarious Solidarity Award went to Eduardo Rodríguez, better known as Edu Balboa, a policeman from Malaga who dresses up as Spiderman and hangs out from the facades of children’s oncology hospitals to encourage children.

The Real Madrid player and silver in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Jesús Vallejo presented the award to the best team member of the international squad, the Murcian cyclist Jose Joaquín Rojas, who received it for gestures such as Valverde’s fall in La Vuelta.

Rojas, with 19 participations in “great” tours, stopped and went to find his leader to help him get out of the ravine through which he had precipitated.

For his part, Javier Guillén, general director of La Vuelta, presented the Gregarious Club award to the Asturian businessman Enrique Martínez. His teammates valued his generosity and commitment, indisputable values for the Gregarious. Finally, there was a special mention for Grupo Azotea, the place where the awards are held annually and which was collected by its CEO, José Manuel García.
