The life of Jorge Sanz has taken an important turn. And it is that the 53-year-old actor suffered a heart attack ten years ago that forced him to completely change his habits to stay healthy mainly for himself, but also for his family.

This is how he told it this Friday in the Deluxe. “It helps me to know what state I don’t want to return to, or what state I don’t want to be in. Ten years ago I had a heart attack, but it was the healthiest thing that has happened to me in my life.”
Aware that his “night parties” were very famous, he admits that he is not ashamed to accept that he asked for help to get rid of his addictions. “The cardiologist told me that he was addicted. It just seems like it’s frowned upon for him to ask for help…I’m trying to get rid of certain addictions. I’m halfway there,” she said.
Fortunately, Sanz has found the help he needs in a Madrid clinic. “I am from the generation of men who don’t cry and tell the waiter about their problems… and it doesn’t have to be that way. They are helping me get to know this disease, and get to know me without substances of any kind. They have helped me understand myself… why I do things… what people want is to see you well”.
Work and public life have taken their toll on him: “People don’t want to work with someone who takes drugs or drinks. (…) I had an intense, active life with big problems… and people don’t want that When you live facing the public, people do not want to see sadness, they do not want to see that you are struggling to get a medicine for your son who is having a terrible time, they are sick that an ex-partner has died, but they do not want to see you badly.
Currently, he is focused on working on himself and being with his loved ones: “I’m doing well, fortunately I have a long way to go. There has been a part that I have saved for this time: I have my house paid for, I live with my partner, my children, I am calmer, I’m not for pods”.
