Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman are proclaimed runners-up in the 470 world

MADRID, 29 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish sailors Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman have been proclaimed this Saturday runner-up in the world of 470, a new Olympic sailing modality, in the World Championship of the class that is being disputed in Sdot Yam (Israel).

In this way, Xammar, bronze in Tokyo 2020 together with Nicolás Rodríguez, and Brugman add this success to the runner-up in Europe achieved in September in Cesme (Turkey) and confirm themselves as one of the sensations of the class, which to the 2024 Paris Olympics has become a mixed class.

Both started outside the ‘Top 10’ of the World Championship and were, day by day, climbing positions until they reached the Medal Race this Saturday in fourth place.

In it, they have successfully won the final regatta and have managed to hang the silver medal, only behind the Germans Luise Wanser and Phillip Autenrieth, who have been undisputed world champions.

At the beginning of 2022, Xammar announced that he was continuing in the Olympic race and that he was doing so together with Nora Brugman, a childhood friend and great sailor in the class. From the first moment they were uncovered as a crew of guarantees that aspires to conquer the precious Olympic gold.

The Spanish crews of Silvia Mas and Nico Rodríguez, who have finished in 12th place overall, and María Bover and Pablo García, in 22nd, have also taken part in this championship.
