MADRID, 13 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The national handball coach, Jordi Ribera, celebrated the victory this Thursday against the Czech Republic to solve the always “complicated” debut in a great tournament, a first step in the 2022 European Championship that forces them to improve, thinking about Sweden.
“We are happy for the two points, it was a difficult game, but the first game is always difficult in a competition,” he said in statements provided by the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM).
Spain was in control of the debut at the Ondrej Nepela Arena in Bratislava to get off to a good start in defending the title. The current double European champion was not successful in attack and had a moment of suspense at the end, to the desperate Czechs.
“We have to improve a lot ahead of the Sweden game. Now it’s time to recover and prepare for the next game, which is going to be tough,” added Ribera, thinking about the match against Sweden on Saturday, the two favorites in Group E that a priori will be played advance phase with the two points.
