MADRID, 14 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The national handball coach, Jordi Ribera, recognized Chile’s touch of attention despite the victory (34-26) this Saturday in the second day of the 2023 World Championship, a duel without rhythm or efficiency that warns of the need to improve .
“Perhaps it was not the script planned for the game. Chile has known how to play one against one and we have not been fluid in attack, especially the first 15 minutes, perhaps we have to mark the ground a bit and we have not done it” , said in statements provided by the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM).
The ‘Hispanics’ coach explained the positive aspects and was confident that his team would improve, with a view now on Monday against Iran and the option of going to the ‘Maind Round’ with the maximum of four points. “As time goes by you get a little nervous because of the anxiety you have to win the game in the first few minutes,” he said.
“As there are always positive things, we have rotated everyone. It gives us a balance in the wear and tear. The incorporation of Cañellas and Dani is also positive. I think the game for us has not been good. We have managed to win eight, the rotations help for that. In the first part we lacked rhythm”, he added.
“The important thing is that we have added two points and that now, in the game against Iran, we have the possibility of being able to have those two points and go through the first phase with four. It is clear that we have to improve, sometimes these games help to see that it is necessary to work from the first minute to the end and that the next game we will be at the top”, he finished.
