Jordi Alba: “We deserve this title”

BARCELONA, 13 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The FC Barcelona player Jordi Alba pointed out this Friday that the team is “excited” to win the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid on Sunday, in a game that takes place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), and believes that they deserve the title and the power to put a “turning point” regarding the drought of successes.

“When we start to play in the opposite field we do it phenomenally and we suffer less behind. That has to be the line. Madrid comes out very well on the counter, and we have to be more careful in that aspect. It will be a very even match that hopefully he opts for Barça. I think we deserve this title”, he assured in an interview with the club’s media.

Alba assured that they are “with great enthusiasm”. “In these Classics, it doesn’t matter how you arrive. Yesterday we went to penalties, they too. We have two days to rest and hopefully we can lift a title that we want so much and that would be a turning point for us and the fans,” he was honest.

“Luckily there are several players who have already won it. And we have the same illusion, although from outside it is said that it is a minor title for me it is one more, important title, that counts in your record. And there are young people who He hasn’t won it,” he recalled.

Of course, in front of them they have their greatest rival and the current winner of the competition. “We have the opportunity to do it against a great rival and I see the team motivated, with a lot of desire. We are in good dynamics and hopefully we can lift the first title of the season,” he predicted.

From the semifinal, he recognized that against Betis – triumph in the penalty shootout – they suffered “too much”. “We didn’t control the ball in the second half, we got complicated. But we have to pass. What is clear is that against Madrid we have to give the best version if we want to win,” he warned his teammates.

He highlighted, from that duel on Thursday, his teammate Ter Stegen. “Marc showed that he is the best in the world. He did phenomenal and helped us win, not only in the shootout but before the game. He gave us the qualification for the final, we saved ourselves because of him and he will be happy,” he said.

“For a ‘culé’ like me who has been at the club for 18 years and I have lived many times it is the match, of course it is special. It will be a beautiful, intense match and we hope to win and dedicate the title to the fans”, he concluded.
