Portuguese João Henriques is the substitute for Tiago Mendes on the bench Vitória de Guimarães, from the Portuguese first division, after the former mattress announced his resignation as coach.
Henriques assumed the reins of the team this Monday and signed a contract until the end of the season, with the option of one more season, Guimarães reported today in a statement.
The new 47-year-old coach led Santa Clara, a modest team of Azores which he left in ninth place on the table.
He Vitória de Guimarães is tenth in the table with 4 points in three days, after having reaped a defeat, a draw and a victory under the command of Tiago Mendes.
