João Félix-Luis Suárez, unlimited society

When Griezmann left Atlético (2019) almost no one imagined that Atleti would reinvent itself as it has done. It is no secret that one of the great news for the fans is that the signing of Suárez has also improved the level of João Félix. This is reflected in the data: Atlético registers 17 goals in nine games. Five run on João's account and four do the same with Suárez. Between the two they exceed 50% of the team's goals. Simeone's are the second club (tied with Villarreal) that sees the door more times in the League with 13 goals behind Real (18 and with two more games).

The Portuguese has five goals in nine games and is four from matching his mark in the previous campaign. The start of the former Barça player is not far behind either: four goals in just 174 minutes. Both form a society at least dangerous for rivals. The former Benfica player is playing with more freedom of movement and those spaces that he generates are transformed into gold for Suárez. When they coincide in the field, they are searched more than 20 times. His constant combinations also make other teammates like Correa and Koke step forward in a more daring system.

Without going any further, in the game against Lokomotiv the new pair was close to solving a complicated ballot. The Portuguese invented a genius and Suárez was short on completing that masterpiece. That action is only a reflection of what they can give when they associate. Atlético did not end the previous season well and that problem is also accused of not having a reference '9', someone who did open the defense so that João went into the kitchen.

Objective: forget Griezmann

The separations after a glorious cycle are usually dangerous, in the case of Madrid with Cristiano. Griezmann decided to leave Atlético to sign for Barcelona having the mistake of Arda Turan in the past. Without the Frenchman, Atlético had their worst season since 2006-07 (47 goals). Simeone's men added 68 goals and of those goals only 21 have been scored by their two forwards: Morata (16) and Costa (5). Precisely, 21 goals are those that Griezmann made in the rojiblanco team in his last season (these were his lowest numbers in the mattress entity). When it seemed that Atleti would not get a replacement for Griezmann, he opted for Joao Félix and the following summer for Suárez. It seems this has only just begun.
