Luca Marini “We are working well with Honda”

The Spanish rider Joan Mir (Repsol Honda) has assured that they have taken “one more step” on the first day of the preseason test at the Losail Circuit (Qatar), in which he finished thirteenth in the time table, and has highlighted that they are already “faster than last year.”
“In general it has been a good first day of testing and we have been able to confirm many things that we had already advanced in Sepang. We have tested some more things in the aerodynamic section and we have been able to take another step, which makes me happy,” he said in statements provided by your team.
In this sense, the Spaniard acknowledged that he has “ridden comfortably”, emphasizing that they have ridden “almost all day on used tyres”. “With a medium used tire we have been able to make good times and be around 53, constantly improving even with the used tires,” he said.
“It's a positive point and we are already faster than last year. After changing the aerodynamics, we have focused a little more on the electronics and I think this is where we still have some room for improvement,” he noted.
For his part, his teammate, Luca Marini, revealed that he “doesn't” feel “100%,” after a day in which he was eighteenth. “It's a shame, but we were still able to do what we needed. This first day was much better than the first in Sepang, so this shows that we started well in Malaysia and we continue to do so here,” he said.
“It is clear that there is still work to do, but the team and I have some ideas and we want to make progress tomorrow, and then continue doing so in the next races. Honda is giving us things to test and we are already working well together; this is important in the point we are at,” he concluded.
