Villarreal and Real Sociedad signed a draw after a match in which Dani Parejo's early goal was countered by one from Isak when added time was already in dispute. Some boards in the end just right, because the txuri urdin team, although lacking a 'punch' in the final meters, looked for them until the whistle. The 'Submarino', of course, still does not know the defeat in 2021, prolonging its extraordinary streak, with only one match lost of the last 27 played, while the Real, which has not yet won this year, only has two wins in his last fifteen crashes.
Villarreal was ahead on the scoreboard in the blink of an eye. Minute 3 passed when a gallop down the right wing by Rubén Peña ended with a center from him, a shot from Alcacer that Guevara rejected and a dead ball in the front of the area that found Dani Parejo. The international pulled out of his hat a tremendous ‘shoe that slipped like a shell before a Remiro who could only watch the ball slip into his goal. A great goal, they are doubt.
The 1-0 did not daunt Real Sociedad, far from it. The txuri urdin team took possession of the ball (they would have more than 60 percent possession of it in the first half) and Villarreal was forced to take a step back. Not even with numerical superiority in the spinal cord (without the injured Gerard Moreno it was Alcácer the only groguet point) prevented Real from being the one to dominate. To those of Imanol, however, they lacked hit to see rewarded their superiority in the green. Isak sent the ball to the crossbar and a center-kick from Monreal crossed the goal line before the break was reached. The locals, meanwhile, only put the visiting goal at risk again in a taco shot by Alcacer that went away by centimeters.
After passing through the locker room, the game's script continued to be the same, with a Real Sociedad that wanted the ball and a Villarreal, although not so crouched, that sought to surprise its rival in counter actions or through rapid transitions. The visitors, as in the first period, continued with their aim off the mark and free kicks from Mikel Merino and Portu went out.
The changes that both coaches were introducing, including the debut of Carlos Fernández (ex Sevilla) in the Real did not entail immediate variations on the scoreboard, because despite the fact that the San Sebastian team locked up Villarreal in their field, the 'Submarino' defended themselves with order. However, when the minute 93 was already played, a header from Pau Torres was 'hunted' inside the area by the Swede Isak, who beat Asenjo with his kick and put the 1-1, just and definitive, in La Ceramics.
