In the men’s category, the athlete from Spainsnow, Martín Morales (FADI-SABIK) has competed masterfully throughout the morning, both in the qualifiers and in the semifinal and final, and has won the victory and the title of absolute champion of Spain ahead of the Catalan, Marc Colell (FCEH-CEFUC), and the Navarrese, Lander Martín (FNDI-IRRTZ), being received at the finish line by the president of the Royal Spanish Winter Sports Federation, May Peus.
“I am very happy because it was a competitive final in which there was a high level and when I reached the finish line and saw this quality of long-distance runners, victory tasted even better. I am proud because this sport is very well represented. This is my first year in the Spainsnow team and I want to get as close as possible to the level of Jaume Pueyo (FCEH-CEFUC) and, for this, I try to replicate everything he does, such as his training, food or other issues. I am clear that we can fight in the future with good work and preparation”, said the winner.
On the other hand, in the absolute female category, Cuadrado (FNDI-IRRTZ) prevailed after a hard-fought final in a spectacular one-on-one with the athlete from Spainsnow, Marta Moreno (FCEH-CAEI). “This final has been hard fought. The truth is that the track conditions were very good and we enjoyed a day like today seeing that we are all tight, that’s very good. Also seeing that athletes like Jaume, who train and compete with us, they are in European Cups at the top and participate in World Cups is a motivation”, said the champion.
