Inzaghi: “Inter have only won once in Madrid, we will play with personality”

MADRID, 6 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Inter Milan coach, Simone Inzaghi, hoped to bring out “personality” and a good game this Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabeú to take the first place in Group D from Real Madrid on the last day of the first phase of the Champions League .

“For us it will be an important game. We are both in the round of 16 but we want to play a great game. In the first leg we played a great game but it was not enough, tomorrow we will have to do something else,” he said at a press conference.

The Italian coach valued in the previous one the absence of Benzema in the whites and the presence of a Vinicius at a high level. “Benzema is a very important player but the coaches live with these problems. Jovic scored and assisted in the last game, Madrid have great resources,” he commented in the run-up to the match.

“We know him (Vinicius) well, he has a lot of quality and this year he is having great continuity in terms of assists and goals. There are many strong players,” added an Inzaghi who explained that they will have to take the same care with the Brazilian as with the rest. Regarding his call, the Inter coach confirmed Correa’s withdrawal and doubts about De Vrij and Kolarov.

The Italian team arrives in Madrid in good dynamics, but they need victory if they want to be first in the draw for the round of 16. “It is an important game: in Madrid Inter have only won once, there will be pitfalls, difficulties. We come to play it with personality and desire to do well,” he confessed.

“We know each other better and from our first games we played good football. We left some points, but we always work in the right way. Now we are on a positive streak, which gives us a lot of self-esteem,” he concluded about the moment of his team.
