Inter wins the Coppa against Juve with a brace from Perisic in extra time

MADRID, 12 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Inter Milan won the Italian Cup this Wednesday by beating Juventus (2-4) in the Rome Olympic final, with a brace from Perisic in extra time to give his club a Coppa they had not won since 2011.

With Serie A at stake between Inter and Milan, the neighboring Nerazzurri at the moment celebrated the cup title against a ‘Juve’ who confirmed their year in white. Simone Inzaghi’s men repeated their triumph over Turin’s team as in the Super Cup, with the eighth Cup for Inter.

Barella put Milan ahead with a great goal from distance and Inzaghi’s team managed the first half calmly, without risking while the rival came to dominate. Dybala was the one who tried the most, along with Bernardeschi, before the break.

After the break, Massimiliano Allegri was helped by the revulsion of the Spanish striker Álvaro Morata, who deflected a shot from Sandro (1-1). In two minutes, with a counterattack also launched by the player from Madrid, ‘Juve’ signed the comeback.

Vlahovic made it 2-1 and Inter had to crash into a wall. However, in defense of the result, Bonucci failed in the area with a penalty on Lautaro Martínez that Calhanoglu converted (2-2). In extra time, De Ligt gave away another maximum penalty, the first of two goals, the second a great goal, by Perisic.
