Iniesta and Bojan Krkic team up to launch ‘Guava’, a high-end bike brand focused on gravel

MADRID, 21 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Former FC Barcelona soccer players Andrés Iniesta and Bojan Krkic, currently at Japanese Vissel Kobe, take part in the launch of ‘Guava’, a high-end bicycle brand born in Barcelona and promoted by NSN Ventures, the business incubator of the player from La Mancha.

Guava focuses on the experience of the cyclist who wants to enjoy, have fun and break with the routine on the best routes, tracks and trails for gravel cycling. The brand arises from David Álvarez and Nacho Suárez, with more than 25 years of experience in the bicycle industry and to which Bojan Krkic has joined as a founding partner.

In addition, the project has the backing of Iniesta’s Never Say Never Ventures (NSN), thus becoming a new venture for the group.

Guava aims to focus on the rider experience and the enjoyment of riding, especially on gravel, to be a fun and inclusive brand, and to offer an excellent bike at a very competitive price, cutting out middlemen.

Frames are designed from the ground up by the Guava team to implement only the features that help make the gravel experience the best it can be. In Barcelona, all the bicycles are designed, painted and assembled, with the possibility of customizing the color of the frame and the details, with more than 140 different combinations.

Unlike the vast majority of brands on the market, at Guava you can try out the bikes before buying them, something that the Barcelona brand believes is fundamental and key to making a decision of these characteristics.

There is also the option of going directly through the clubhouse and going out to try one of the bikes available on the slopes of Collserola for two hours. The showroom and clubhouse will open shortly in Vallvidrera (Barcelona), where all the bikes are assembled and you can have coffee in a cycling environment.

PRIMER MODEL: GUAVA SPOT

Guava’s first model is the ‘Spot’, which will have two different assembly possibilities that share the same design with a carbon frame, but in which the difference will be in the components.

The basis of the Guava Spot is the frame and fork, both made of carbon and with their own design. The frame has a load compartment with a Fidlock magnetic closure, with a tool bag included.

Three bottle cage mounts and a mount for adding a frame bag to the top tube, plus bag and fender mounts for the most epic adventures. The integrated carbon handlebar has also been designed, with internal wiring. It is fitted with premium Volte carbon wheels, WTB tubeless tires and a SRAM Force AXS drivetrain with Eagle cassette.

The second mounting option, which will be available soon, will have an aluminum handlebar, stem and seatpost, also with internal wiring. The Volte wheels will be aluminum, the WTB tubeless tires and the SRAM Rival AXS components with Eagle cassette for any type of terrain.
