Independent extends its good time

Independent beat this Friday by 1-0 to Cordoba Workshops and extended its good start to the Argentine Professional Football League Tournament, in one of the five matches that continued the second day of the competition.

With a goal from Lucas Romero, the ‘Rojo’ beat the Cordovan team at home and became one of the four teams that lead the standings with four units as a result of a win and a draw.

Estudiantes de La Plata and Gimnasia de La Plata also gained access to this privileged place after their respective victories this Friday against Aldosivi (0-1 away) and Patronato (2-0 at home).

The ‘Pincha’ defeated Aldosivi thanks to the conquest of the Paraguayan Mario López, against his fence, while the ‘Tripero’ beat Patronato after the goals of the Colombian Johan Carbonero and Cristian Tarragona.

The fourth team that reached four units was Newell’s Old Boys, who in Thursday’s game that opened this second date tied goalless at home against San Lorenzo.

In the remaining results of this Friday, Lanús drew 1-1 with Defense and Justice and Huracán won 2-0 against Rosario Central.

The day will continue this Saturday with four other commitments where the presentation of River Plate at home against Atlético Tucumán stands out, while on Sunday in another four duels the presentation of Racing against Godoy Cruz in Mendoza and that of Boca Juniors against Central Córdoba in Santiago del Estero in addition to the classic Santa Fe between Colón and Unión.
