Incidents in the Plaza Mayor between Chelsea and City fans

Since the draw for the quarterfinals was held, the Spanish authorities feared that there would be clashes between supporters of Chelsea y Manchester City, who were going to coincide in the Spanish capital for their respective commitments before Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

And this Tuesday afternoon the first incidents took place. The Police was forced to carry out charges in the center of the city, in the Plaza Mayor itself, where fans of both groups met, some before going to the Bernabéu and others guarding weapons for Wednesday’s clash at the Metropolitan. Radio Marca’s images show it.

Although both hobbies were sharing space without apparent problems, a punch from a supporter of the Chelsea to another of City unleashed the confrontation, which ended with the throwing of glasses and bottles between them. One was injured in the leg and was immediately attended by the Samur. The Police managed to contain the situation, separating both fans in the square.
