BARCELONA, 10 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Galatasaray goalkeeper Iñaki Peña, on loan from FC Barcelona until the end of the season, has claimed to be “very happy” with his performance with the Turks at the Camp Nou, precisely against his team, in a 0-0 first leg round of 16 of the Europa League in which he had a lot of weight.
“Very happy with the team’s attitude, with the way they played. We played the game we had to play, concentrating for 90 minutes. The team knew how to suffer and go on the counterattack. On a personal level, I’m very happy to help the team” , said Peña in Movistar.
Regarding his future, he assured that he is aware that his contract is with FC Barcelona. “I’m very happy. In the end, I’m focused on Galatasaray, obviously I have a contract with Barça and on June 30 I have to return, and whatever it has to be, it will be”, he predicted.
“In the Turkish League, the tactical level… They are more open games, with more cons, a faster game. We knew it was very difficult to get a clean sheet here and we were able to do it. I had a good game, I’m very happy Because of my performance, I needed to have minutes and I’m having them”, concluded the goalkeeper from Alicante.
For his part, his coach, the Catalan Domènec Torrent, praised him after the match. “Iñaki has a profile of FC Barcelona and I have no doubt that he has a bright future ahead of him. Although I am not Barça’s coach,” recalled the coach, with a Blaugrana past as part of Pep Guardiola’s ‘staff’.
