The horse industry moves five billion euros a year and generates more than 60,000 direct jobs in Spain
MADRID, 28 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
IFEMA Madrid Horse Week returns to the capital of Spain from November 26 to 28 at the Juan Carlos I park fairgrounds, in pavilions 12 and 14, with a leisure offer and a top-level sports program with the best riders from the world classification of show jumping and dressage, report the organizers.
The IFEMA Madrid Horse Week hospitality program offers a meeting place for horse owners, entrepreneurs, riders, sponsors and celebrities. The horse industry is a flourishing sector that in Spain moves more than five billion euros a year and generates more than 60,000 direct jobs.
In the last edition of IMHW, held in 2019, these boxes were occupied by companies and personalities, from investors to promoters and managers, as well as top-level firms and institutions.
Some of the buyers choose to invest and develop young horses with a view to a future sale, leaving their care in the hands of a professional rider who will be in charge of putting the horse in shape and making it relevant in high competition.
Although there are many investment ranges, starting at 20,000 euros, the price of a young horse with potential can reach up to 300,000 euros.
However, there are other buyers who see horses as part of their family and prefer to enjoy watching them jump in competitions around the world, while networking in VIP areas, establishing new relationships or businesses parallel to the equestrian world with other important businessmen, as in the Madrid event.
In addition, investment in foal breeding and auctioning is booming right now. At an auction, a specimen with good origins can start from 5,000 and reach a bid of 60,000 euros, with the hope that the colt will come out and may even reach a million euros in a few years.
In this way, the horse industry has an economic impact of 300,000 million dollars annually and generates more than 1.5 million full-time jobs worldwide. The impact on events such as IMHW in 2019 was 32,572,350 euros, which, in turn, meant an expenditure on GDP of 56,419,988 euros and a return to public finances of 6,447,035 euros.
SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENTS
However, in order to achieve these figures, the equestrian sport sponsorship contracts must be taken into account. The scope of sponsors ranges from insurance companies to the world of the retail sector and the high-end automotive sector. In addition, the riders are also sponsored by these brands.
Regarding the sponsors of IFEMA Madrid Horse Week, in this 2021 edition, the automobile company Porsche, Gilmar Consulting Inmobiliario, the equestrian television channel Horse TV, the Marqués de Vargas wineries, El Corte Inglés are added to the list.
To these are added the usual firms such as Estrella Damm, Rodilla, Grupo Eulen, Longines, ¡Hola !, the Alfonso X el Sabio University, AON and Quirón Salud and the support of the Madrid City Council through Madrid Destino.
Hospitality packages, VIP tickets, as well as spaces for commercial stands are already on sale, and can be purchased by contacting the organization directly. IFEMA Madrid Horse Week has the collaboration and support of IFEMA, the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation (RFHE), the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), the Community of Madrid and the Madrid City Council.
