“I will vote Democrat because they protect the rights of women and human beings in general”

The actress Eva Longoria (Corpus Christi, Texas; March 15, 1975) has done it again. The Global Gift gala was once again the starting point of summer nights in Marbella, raising more than 200,000 euros to improve the lives of children who need it most. With her husband and son, the star of Desperate Housewives She is living a particularly sweet moment but always remaining faithful to the principles of solidarity that her mother instilled in her since she was a child.

Once again, the gala is back for the 12th time. How do you get it?

HE: We have been doing philanthropic events for fifteen years, but the Marbella gala is very special for me because it was where we started with the first foundation and today we finally have the Casa Ángeles and the funds we have raised go towards the therapies of these little ones. Thinking about where we started and where we are is a miracle for me, although it is also the result of the work and effort of so many people, but the origin comes from the heart of María Bravo.

In her case, it is in her DNA because since she was a child her mother instilled in her the need to help others and dedicate her time to those ends.

HE: My mother, my aunts, my sisters… My mother always told us that we had to volunteer and that is why I grew up with the idea that we have to help others. Before I was famous, I was already aware that my job in life was to dedicate a lot of time to others. Thank God, today I have this platform that opens the doors for me to make many associations known and achieve the goals they seek.

Clearly the Eva Longoria brand can be the best master key to open many doors to solidarity.

HE: I wish. I would love for that to be the case because my idea is to use my light to focus on causes that need help or attention.

Has anyone ever said no to you?

HE: In my life in general? (laughs) Now seriously, if someone tells you no it’s because you’re asking the wrong way or to the wrong person.

You already have a house in Marbella. Does this mean that we will spend more and more time in Spain?

HE: Every day I am closer to fulfilling my dream of living in Marbella all year round. I would love to. At the moment I am going little by little. Now I am filming Land of Women in Catalonia and I’m filming a documentary on Spanish gastronomy for CNN. I’ve been to the Basque Country, Galicia, Asturias, Madrid… I’m fascinated by the level of gastronomy in Spain, which is at the top of the world’s list.

If I ask you about your favorite dish?

HE: I am very basic because I love ham and Spanish omelette, but the good thing about Spain is that there is a huge diversity depending on the region you visit. That is incredibly rich. Everyone thinks that Spain is ham or paella, but there is so much more.

Is it true that you enjoy being a conventional housewife?

HE: I am a desperate housewife: in my real life I am cleaning or cooking, washing clothes… The truth is that I really enjoy being at home.

So she’s not a Hollywood diva?

HE: I am the diva of my house.

Would you like your child to be educated in Spain?

HE: I love Spanish life and I love hearing him speak Spanish, which is his first language, to the point that he spends the whole day correcting me. He usually makes a point of criticizing everything I say and that is because his Spanish is already better than mine.

More children?

HE: Noooo, I’m too old for more children. I’m happy with my son and my three stepchildren and I don’t need any more.

Can we say that Eva Longoria is a woman who has fulfilled all her dreams?

HE: No, no. I think I still have great successes to achieve in life. I am one of those who think that the best is yet to come and that is why I assure you that I still have many dreams in my head.

What would be the main one?

HE: At this moment my dream is to be close to my son, to give him a good education, to instill in him the Spanish way of life and its principles.

Are Spaniards generous?

HE: They want to help and learn, that’s why foundations and associations are created. In Andalusia, specifically in Marbella, it’s true that people are very generous and they always give their all to my gala.

What do you think of Biden’s withdrawal from the American campaign?

HE: I found out in Marbella when my phone was flooded with messages. I’m going to vote for the Democrats because they protect the rights of women and human beings in general and I don’t care who is at the head of the party. My vote is blue because the Democrats are the only ones who fight for our rights. I love Joe Biden but I think we’re going to put a new energy into the party and I hope it’s a woman. Long live women!
