“I will take care of your children as if they were my own”

We saw this Tuesday completely broken and desolate Carla Goyanes at the Marbella funeral home, where dozens of friends and family have tearfully said goodbye to her sister Caritawho died of a heart attack at the age of 46. Jorge Benguría’s wife has been attentive to her mother at all times, Search for Lapiquehis brother-in-law, Antonio Matosand his nephews, Pedro and Mini Cari. Before arriving in Madrid, where the businesswoman’s funeral will be held, Carla wanted to pay tribute to her sister with a carousel of images and a beautiful text on social media: “You left too soon and full of plans and dreams. We still had a lot left to do. I still can’t believe that we won’t talk anymore, hug each other, console each other, or enjoy life together with our children any more. No more laughter, no more arguments, no more dancing, no more trips, no more birthdays.”

Carla is full of praise for her older sister: “You were unique and unrepeatable, the most generous, fun, hard-working, fun-loving, with a faith that I have always envied and that has made you very happy in the last years of your life. I don’t know anyone with more friends than you, some like sisters. You have been a devoted mother, a daughter who is very attentive to her parents and even though we are totally different, you are the best sister I could have had.”she wrote. She also remembered her father, Carlos Goyanes, whom they both mourned after his sudden death just 20 days ago: “A few days ago you told me that you didn’t believe that all of this was because of Dad and now I can’t believe that it’s because of you.”

Carla admits that she is broken with grief but makes a promise to her sister: “Rest assured that I will be very strong and I will take care of your children as much as you let me as if they were my own, I will take care of mom for both of them and I will take care of Matos because I know how much you loved him”he assured. “You will see your children grow from heaven and you will be very proud of them,” she concluded. “Rest in peace, Cari. I love you.”

Messages of support and consolation have multiplied on Carla’s post. Many well-known faces have wanted to send their condolences and strength to face these difficult times, such as Tomás Páramo (“You are in our prayers, family. The biggest hug in the world”), Vicky Martín Berrocal (“Lots of strength, heart. I feel it in my soul”), Alba Carrillo (“A huge kiss and much encouragement to the whole family. We are with you”) or Marta Hazas (“I’m so sorry. A big hug”).
