“I wanted to be there but I had a fever of almost 38º”

He was the great absentee on the most special day of his partner and friend Beatriz Cortazar. The journalist married the criminal lawyer on the 6th Javier Diaz Apariciowith whom she began a relationship eight years ago. The couple gathered a good number of family and friends in La Granja de San Ildefonso: “I was at home coughing, I wanted to be there but I had a fever of almost 38º”he said this Wednesday Jimenez Losantos.

Those who did enjoy it were Alaska, Carlos Pérez-Gimeno and Daniel Carande, among many others. It was a party in style that Cortázar recalled with laughter in It’s morning: “After two days I’m still recovering. I spent Sunday sweeping and mopping. There was everything, broken glasses… And I’m still looking for Cinderella because I can find anything at home,” she said, taking a shoe out of her bag. “I’m sweeping and suddenly I find a shoe. This is the summary of what the wedding party was like.”

Beatriz has said that she had no plans to get married again and that doing so was something impulsive: “It was something we improvised in a month, people don’t believe it. One day I called Rosa Clará for something else and I said ‘hey, you should know that I’m getting married in September’ and we started talking and she thought I was talking to her about next year. Since she has ideal clothes, they adjusted them for me and then they un-adjusted them because I came back from August and the day I went to try them on was horrible,” she said.

In the end, and despite the little time they had to organize it, it was an emotional and very fun celebration that included performances by the guests themselves: “We had a great time. It was a party, a great night. The good thing about having such artistic and creative friends is that everyone got up on stage.”our colleague said.
