“I want to be important and I must show it from day one”

With magic on his feet, as the previous season in LaLiga SmartBank demonstrated, Nico Melamed is called to be one of the revelation players of the First in his 20 years. Cheeky on the field, professional (“my priority is to be well for football,” he says) like few and hungry, Melamed does not want to play a secondary role this course. He wants to play, score and be a key part of Vicente Moreno's Espanyol.

“I come with enthusiasm and humility, also with commitment. I am ambitious and I want to be important, and I must show it from the first day and I will do it until the last meeting “He commented, while he was hopeful with the current squad and despite the lack of reinforcements: “The feelings are good. The team is able to compete with those we are in right now.”

Nothing changes in the script of the soccer player, who loves a profession that his parents have told him with the experience of his grandfather, a soccer player in Argentina and champion of the Interconinental Cup. “I am aware that it can be demanded, but neither am I because I always gave my maximum from childhood, youth or in the first team. In First I am still going to give more.”

Espanyol's objective will not change despite the fact that, for category reasons, the team will not win as much as the previous year and the objective is more flexible than promotion. Despite this, Melamed prefers to look with low beams: “Last year the goal was to go up, but we didn't get cloudy either and we went game by game. We will go the same, game by game, and from there we will try to enjoy ourselves to win each game.”

The footballer congratulated himself on the renewal of Puado because “he is a key piece, I will give many joys and represents the quarry” and reiterated his message on how a player should be cared for: “I believe in work and effort. There is work in Sant Adrià and then rest and food at home; I thank my family for all that. And all that together with talent is what is reflected”.
