Claudia Pina was one of the great protagonists of Barcelona’s comeback at the Alfredo Di Stéfano in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. The attacking midfielder was key in changing the negative dynamics of Jonatan Giráldez’s team in the first half and scoring 1-2, her first goal in this competition, which was decisive in undermining the resistance of a great Real Madrid.
“It was a very difficult match and we were able to turn it around. I try to help the team as much as I can, I have fun playing football surrounded by the best”, said Claudia Pina at a press conference. “Offensively I played inside, as I like and as the coach has asked me to, but wherever I play I have to make an effort, it’s not a problem to play on the wing,” said the Catalan player, who led the Barça reaction after the break.

It would be great news if the Camp Nou is full because they will help us win the game and get through the tie”, the midfielder pointed out. “I appeal to all the Catalans to come to the Camp Nou and cheer us on, that way it will be easier”, the Barça footballer wished.
“It is always special to play against Real Madrid and even more so in the Champions League, we expected the level they have given”, said the player from Moncada and Reixach about the staging of Alberto Toril’s players, which surprised the current European champions with intense high pressure and a goal from Olga Carmona in the 8th minute.
“In the second half we played the most our game. There is still the return leg and we will try to win against our people”, insisted Claudia Pina
