The new Levante coach, Javi Pereira, assured this Friday in his presentation that the fact that he has not trained in the elite of European football as head coach does not make him a risky bet and that, on the contrary, the fact of knowing the house by having spent two years as second to JIM and the coaching staff he has surrounded himself with make him a safe bet.
“The bet on me is not risk but security. I have surrounded myself with the best professionals and people with Levante DNA ”, he pointed out in his presentation.
“The club has always bet on this type of coach. We have known each other for a long time and the most important thing in a non-critical but delicate moment is the knowledge of the environment, the players and the club because that makes you shorten the deadlines and that’s what it’s all about. Nobody can say that we are going to win but we have the guarantee that with thirty days left we will move forward ”, he said.
The Badajoz coach thanked the confidence and assured that although had offers from England could not refuse the Levant. “I go back to my house, to my team, I have always said it that way, that my team is Levante when they have asked me these ten years because it gave me the opportunity to make my debut in the First Division. I was thinking of going back to England because of my recent past but you can’t say no to Levante ”, he stressed.
The coach said thave “a broad knowledge” of the workforce that he has reinforced while finishing his quarantine in China and put in value the work of his predecessor Paco López.
“I have taken advantage of these days when I was in a room to watch all the games. Chapeau for Paco López, I do not take a destroyed team but a block ”, he claimed.
“I think the team has lacked a bit of luck and a bit of efficiency. The player base is solid and I think by touching the necessary key we can achieve that efficiency andn form of results, which is what prevails at the moment ”, he highlighted.
Pereira said that although it is a continuous process He has already been able to pass on his ideas to the players and that he has found a great predisposition.
“We are going to take advantage of the previous work that has been good to give it a plus and get results,” he predicted.
“My philosophy is to win games, anywhere in the world. This is not a revolution, we cannot change everything. Taking advantage of the work, we will give nuances. There will be time for everything but it is about seeking balance and the first thing is to ensure our goal and increase opportunities. There will be moments to be offensive but my main objective is to be an effective, daring team and that when we don’t have the ball we are organized ”, he summarized.
Pereira warned that he wants to get a stable eleven and that that begins with the goal, where there will be no rotation. “Levante has a blessed problem because putting one or the other is going to be 100% correct. I want to automate, I am one more trainer to give confidence to the players, that it costs to enter and it costs to leave the eleven ”, he explained.
