MADRID, 9 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is retiring from the French soccer team, the until now captain of the ‘Bleus’ confirmed this Monday in an interview with the French sports newspaper L’Équipe.
“There comes a time when you have to know that you have to give up leadership,” said the 36-year-old, who won the 2018 World Cup with France and came close to defending the title in Qatar last year.
“I think the team behind is ready to continue, there is also a goalkeeper who is ready,” said Lloris, who still has a contract with English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur until 2024.
