Huesca has only won once in Mendizorroza, 38 years ago

The Sociedad Deportiva Huesca, which visits Deportivo Alavés this Sunday, has only won once at the Mendizorroza stadium, 38 years ago, when both teams competed in Second Division B.

In that match, corresponding to the fifth day of the 1983-84 campaign, the Aragonese beat the Basques 0-1 with a goal by Alejandro Campos, which was enough for the victory to go to Huesca.

It was the first season of the Vitoria squad in the third national category after relegation from the Second Division consummated months before after nine years in the silver category and it was on the verge of returning to that competition again.

In total, Alavés and Huesca have met seven times in the Basque capital with five home wins, a draw and an away victory.

In the overall history between the two teams, the number of games won by the Alaves rises to nine, while the Catalans add four wins, by two draws in the rest of the stakes.
