Red Bull team boss Christian Horner insisted on Thursday that Adrian Newey, technical director of the Austrian team, will remain with the team for “many years”, despite the fact that his contract has not yet been renewed.
“His heart is still with Formula 1 and his commitment to the team is not something that worries him,” Horner told Sky Sports News about Newey’s continuity at Red Bull.
The contract of the technical director of the team, an important pillar in the engineering team, would end this season, so some reports said that he could leave the structure and change scenery for the next course. “There are always going to be rumors in the paddock, that’s Formula 1,” he lamented.
“We’re not talking about contracts or their extension, but he’ll be here for many years,” Horner said confidently. “He’s a very important part of our team. It’s great to have him with us for the long term, but also to have him involved in some of the things we’re getting involved in now,” the Red Bull team boss concluded.
