During this summer, the Infanta Elena has not travelled to Marivent with the rest of the members of the Royal Family. As an alternative for these summer months, the mother of Victoria Federica and Froilán has travelled to Portugal to spend a few days relaxing and meeting up with old friends.
The sister of Felipe VI spent a few days on the island of Madeira, in Funchal. To enjoy the neighbouring country, Infanta Elena was accompanied by Rita Allendesalazar, Countess of La Ventosa, a good friend of her childhood, as revealed by Portuguese media.
During her stay, the eldest daughter of Don Juan Carlos visited a Theme Park in Madeira.We received a very pleasant and kind visit from the Duchess of Lugo, eldest daughter of the Emeritus Kings of Spain. She enjoyed the whole space, especially our traditional crafts.“, stated the attraction center’s own Instagram account.
In addition, the Park’s social media shared a snapshot of Infanta Elena together with one of the park’s artisans. For one of her vacation days, Infanta Cristina’s sister chose red striped Bermuda shorts, a pink shirt and classic red Menorcan sandals.
During her holiday, Princess Elena stayed at the Meliá Madeira Mare hotel (Funchal), a large five-star resort. The hotel is located ten minutes from the centre of the Portuguese town and has stunning views of the Atlantic.
