Hazard crumbles

Eden Hazard is still injured, finally he will not have surgery and will opt for his conservative treatment to solve his problems in the psoas. It is his eleventh injury since playing for Real Madrid, where he has not been able to show practically anything of what the white team signed in 2019 from Chelsea, in exchange for a fixed € 100 million and another undisclosed amount for objectives. He has barely scored four goals and given seven assists for white and the club already considers that this season they will not be able to see the best version of the Belgian.

That moment of sporting crisis is transferred to Hazard's assessment on Transfermarkt, a website specialized in statistics and economic valuation of footballers: after the last adjustments to the website, Hazard's value has fallen to € 40 million, his lowest price since 2013, when he took his first steps at Chelsea after arriving in London from Lille.

Ascent and free fall

In England, its valuation did not stop growing: it closed 2014 at 48 million, 2015 and 2016 at 70 million, 2017 at 75 million and in 2018 it made the big jump, up to 150 million (influenced by the effect that the Neymar's pass from Barcelona to PSG, in exchange for 222 million). With that valuation of 150 million euros, he signed for Madrid. And since then, the Belgian has been in free fall, without brakes.

In December 2019 its value was cut to 120 million; closed the 2019-20 academic year at 80 million; and this season it has undergone three new adjustments that have brought that value to 40 million, just over a quarter of the price it reached in full. At his 30 years of age last January (age has a fundamental influence on these Transfermarkt calculations), the question that worries Madrid is: Will Hazard be able to return to the point where he came to wear white, or is there only an attenuated version of the Belgian, unable to escape physical problems?
