Haller suffers a testicular tumor and leaves the Dortmund stage

Borussia Dortmund have reported that Sébastien Haller, their star signing for next season, has been forced to urgently leave the pre-season stage in Bad Ragaz (Switzerland) when a testicular tumor was detected today.

The 28-year-old Côte d’Ivoire striker complained of discomfort after training on Monday morning and intensive tests later revealed that he had a tumor in his testicle. He immediately returned to Dortmund to put himself in the hands of the doctors.

Haller immediately returned to Dortmund and in the next few days he will undergo further examinations at a specialized medical center.

“Today’s news came as a shock to Sébastien Haller and to all of us. The entire BVB family wishes Sébastien a full recovery as soon as possible and that we can hug him again soon. We will do everything in our power to make sure that he gets the best possible treatment,” said Sebastian Kehl, sporting director of Borussia Dortmund.

In its statement, the German club asks that the privacy of the player and his family be respected and will provide more information when it has it in accordance with the striker himself.

On July 6, Dortmund announced the signing of Haller, from Ajax, in exchange for 36 million euros to cover Erling Haaland’s departure to Manchester City.
