MADRID, 8 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish Haimar Zubeldia prevailed this Thursday in the queen stage of the NEOM Titan Desert Saudi Arabia, where the Spanish Olympic medalist David Valero retained the lead, while Ariadna Ródenas from Elche was proclaimed virtual champion.
The third stage left a third winner. A day, the fourth longest in the history of the Titan Desert with 139 kilometers, which left enjoyment and suffering of all kinds for the participants.
Leading again were David Valero, Haimar Zubeldia, Julen Zubero, Josep Betalú and Roberto Bou. The group broke up before reaching the second hydration station and only the two leaders remained in the lead: Valero and Zubeldia.
The Basque runner and the Granada rider gritted their teeth in the last kilometers, between canyons and more open deserts with victory for Zubeldia although almost at the hands of Valero.
Meanwhile, in the women’s category, Ariadna Ródenas once again adapted to the pace of the race to achieve her third victory, a full victory that gives her the virtual victory in the Titan since she has more than an hour ahead of her immediate pursuers: Misha Sekulova and Muriel Bohuet.
