MADRID, 13 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Bolivian Football Federation announced this Saturday the hiring of Argentine Gustavo Costas as the new coach, with the aim of preparing the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup after failing to access Qatar next winter.
Costas, who trains Palestino in the Chilean first division, will take up his new position starting next November, aware that it will not be easy to meet the challenge of taking Bolivia to a World Cup. He alone has played one in all history, the United States in 1994.
At 59 years old, Gustavo Costas – who takes over from César Farías – faces his first experience as a coach after having passed through the leagues of Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico and Colombia, among others, since he began his career as a coach in the year 1999.
