MADRID, 25 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish swimmers Guillem Pujol and Laura Rodríguez have conquered this Saturday the 112th edition of the Nadal Cup, a classic that is held on Christmas morning in the port of Barcelona, in a test marked again by security measures among the participants by the coronavirus.

In the absolute male category, Guillem Pujol was the winner for the eighth time in a row by setting a time of 2 minutes and 3 seconds. The CN Mataró swimmer confirmed his favoritism and is already approaching the historical record of Olympian Dani Serra, who totaled 10 victories between 1984 and 2013.

For its part, in the absolute female category, Laura Rodríguez won for the fourth consecutive time. The CN Barcelona swimmer, who stopped the timer at 2 minutes and 22 seconds, had no problems to revalidate her crown in a test that she has completely dominated.

This Saturday the Nadal Cup brought together 375 swimmers -some dressed as Santa Claus and with Christmas motifs- in an emblematic test in the ‘Ciudad Condal’ that has been held since 1907 and is organized by the Barcelona Swimming Club.
