Guevara signs a record pole in Moto3

MADRID, 18 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish rider Izan Guevara (GasGas) has achieved pole position this Saturday, with a track record, for the Moto3 race of the German Grand Prix, the tenth round of the Motorcycle World Championship, and will start in the front row together with the Italian Dennis Foggia ( Honda) and Spaniard Dani Holgado (KTM), while leader Sergio García Dols (GasGas) will start eighth.

The rider from Palma, winner in Montmeló and who had already beaten the benchmark time for the small category in Sachsering during the third free practice session, improved his mark by 56 thousandths and set a 1:25.869 that no one could beat. With this, the third pole of the course was guaranteed, after those of Qatar and Jerez.

Now, the second classified in the championship will try to print his spectacular pace on Sunday in the race to escape from the beginning. His two companions on the front row of the grid, Foggia and Holgado, will try to prevent it.

The Japanese Ayumu Sasaki (Husqvarna), the second fastest in the last free practices, was soon in charge of the time table in Sachsering, although in the last minutes it was Holgado who took over. The man from Alicante held on in the lead until Guevara appeared, who played it all in one lap and managed to gain the privileged position.

David Muñoz (KTM), who made history in the Catalan Grand Prix with a second position, will start seventh, just ahead of the World Championship leader, Sergio García Dols (GasGas), who will have to climb positions if he does not want his teammate , the ‘poleman’ Guevara, cut the 16-point lead that separates them.

Among the rest of the Spaniards, Adrián Fernández (KTM) will start fourteenth, Xavi Artigas (CFMoto) sixteenth, Carlos Tatay (CFMoto) and Jaume Masià (KTM), who crashed at the start of Q2 and could no longer ride, eighteenth. Among those who did not pass Q1, Iván Ortolá (KTM) will start twenty-sixth and Ana Carrasco (KTM) last.
