The Spanish defender Alejandro Grimaldo has tested positive in the latest covid-19 tests carried out on the Benfica squad, the club reported in a brief statement.

Grimaldo played the 90 minutes of the Portuguese Cup round of 16 match against Porto last night, in which the “dragons” won 3-0.

The 26-year-old Spaniard will miss the next game of the “eagles”, also against Porto, but this time in the League, which will be played on December 30.

Grimaldo had already passed the coronavirus previously, in the month of January.
