Griezmann: “I came to the top because I needed to rest”

Antoine Griezmann claims to be in an exceptional moment of the season after having been able to enjoy “a mental and physical rest that he had not had in five years”. The French striker assures, in an interview with the club's official media, that he “needed to rest” after these three months of inactivity on the pitch and that he is currently “on top” and “eagerly” to return to play, “it has been a long time since we played an official game”.

The former Atlético player underscores his ambition to take on more stripes and responsibilities in the team in this final stretch of the season: “I want to be someone important on the team, both on and off the field.”

He is also optimistic about the team's options to win the championship: “We have all the cards in our hands. We have to make eleven good matches and so we will be champions for sure. We are prepared to enjoy and win. It is important to start well and we have prepared with great enthusiasm the match against Mallorca ”.

Griezmann, who welcomes the return of Luis Suárez to the team, “is the scorer, the one who makes the difference in great games with Leo”, acknowledges that playing at the Camp Nou without an audience will be “a bit strange”, so they trained one day at the stadium “to start getting used to this new environment.”

In fact, he assures that seeing the images of the celebration of the goals in the Bundesliga is the most difficult thing for him to assimilate: “It is something very strange to see in football, but the important thing is that football has returned.”
