Greenwood, off the definitive list of England

The seven discards from England's provisional list for the European Championship are already known. Despite the fact that Southgate called up 33 players a week ago, mainly to wait until the Champions League final to make the final screening, today it has been confirmed who are the 26 players who will play the tournament. Among them there is, as a great absence, Mason Greenwood.

The other surprise on the list was the final citation of Alexander-Arnold. The Liverpool side will have to fight for a position with Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker and Reece James in an overcrowding on the right side. In the last call in the month of March, he was left out, due to the bad moment in which he and his team were going through, and his entry on the list a week ago made us suspect that he could be among the 26 chosen. It has finally been like this. They have not passed cut James Ward-Prowse, Aaron Ramsdale, Ben Godfrey, Ben White, Jesse Lingard, Ollie Watkins and the aforementioned Mason Greenwood.

Greenwood's absence was almost a given even before the final list, as his physical problems have prevented him from training with the group and he will focus to be ready in the preseason with Manchester United. For its part, another great name that has been left out has been Lingard. His exceptional end to the season with West Ham has not helped him to win a place.
