BARCELONA, 28 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Stage 2 of the Freeride World Tour 2022 will be held in Ordino Arcarlís this Sunday, on the Pic de les Planes face of the Andorran resort (at 2,778 meters high), after the green light obtained from the organization of the test.
This Sunday, January 30, the best ski and snowboard free riders, in the men’s and women’s categories, will meet in Ordino Arcalís to fight for victory in this second round of the 2022 Freeride World Tour championship, after the first stage of Baqueira Beret , in the Val d’Aran (Catalonia).
The arrival area will be located in Lake Esbalçat, an area that is outside the ski area and can only be accessed with mountain skis or snowshoes. The forecast for Sunday morning in the area is for spring snow, which requires that anyone who wants to get closer must have a high level of skiing. The show can also be followed live on a giant screen that will be located in the Planells area.
In this test, the Andorran Joan Aracil will represent the Principality for the first time in the FWT with a wild card. With a very varied and attractive offer of terrain for freeride, as well as a dedicated local scene, Ordino Arcalís has hosted the FWT in the Andorran Pyrenees since 2015.
Ordino Arcalís is stage 2 of the FWT and the results in Andorra may have relevant consequences before the cut (‘The Cut’) that will take place after stage #3 at Kicking Horse and will determine which riders qualify for the FWT Finals.
