Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos made it to the semi-finals of the ATP Finals before playing their match against Jurgen Melzer and Edouard Roger-Vasselin, after John Peers and Michael Venus won the first set in their duel against Mate Pavic and Bruno Soares (they finally beat the Croatian and the Brazilian in three (6-7 (2), 6-3 and 10-8), a a condition that mathematically put the Spanish-Argentine couple in the crossroads, who they will enter as the first of the group if they score a third victory after 18:45 or if they lose in three rounds.
In that case they will face Rajeev Ram and John Salisbury on Saturday at 3pm. If they finish second, their rivals will be Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic.
It is the second time that the Spanish, champion in 2012 together with Marc López, reaches the qualifying rounds in the tournament in his fifth participation and the first for the Argentine, number 3 in the world in doubles and debutant in the Masters at 35 years old. This year they have won three titles together: Buenos Aires, Rio and Rome. To do so they depend on themselves.
