The end of the statutory period to make signings has not stopped Granada’s machinery. The Los Cármenes club is finalizing the transfer of Darwin Machís to Charlotte, an MSL team from the United States. He is also close to formalizing the incorporation of winger Dani Raba, who left Villarreal yesterday.
These two operations, apparently out of time, have their explanation. Unlike in Spain, the transfer market is open in the United States so the departure of the Venezuelan winger is perfectly regulatory. So is the arrival of Dani Raba because he has left the Castellón team for what he is, for all intents and purposes, an unemployed player, without a team, and can sign outside the windows set by the regulations.
No figures have been disclosed, but it seems clear that what Granada will receive for Machis (about five million euros) will be a help to face the additions of Petrovic, the Albanian Uzuni and the Uruguayan Matías Arezo. Machís’s contract ends in 2023, so the club understands that it is a very beneficial move.
An interesting market for Granadans where it is also necessary to mention the transfer of Monchu to Valladolid and that of Dionkou to Barcelona B. This Senegalese player, right back, was signed from Manchester City and transferred to San Fernando. From there he goes to the Barça subsidiary.
