Granada enjoys the Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank

The Plaza de Bib-Rambla in Granada hosted this Saturday the penultimate stop of the Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank 2022 circuit, which brought together 192 male and female players in 48 teams from all categories in a day in which 96 matches were played against almost 4,000 visitors.

Carlos Jiménez, former captain and current Team Manager of the Spanish men’s basketball team, has been the FEB Ambassador in an event that has had the institutional support of the Granada City Council and the collaboration of the Andalusian Basketball Federation, in addition to the contribution of a team of 25 volunteers attached to the successful FEB-CaixaBank Volunteer Program.

The day took place from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, and not only the competitions by category were held, but also the usual shooting and skills contests. Granada was the eleventh stop on the circuit in 2022, after passing through Melilla, Madrid, Malaga, Palma, Pamplona, ​​A Coruña, Santander, Barcelona, ​​Alcalá de Henares and Zaragoza. The Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank 2022 will close the edition next Saturday the 12th in Seville.

The mayor of Granada, Francisco Cuenca, was happy to see “families, boys and girls experiencing basketball”. “From the City Council we promote enjoying sport and basketball in the street. Our thanks to CaixaBank, the Spanish Federation and the Andalusian Federation for bringing this circuit here,” he said.

For her part, the director of CaixaBank’s Granada Capital Sur Business Area, Cristina Fernández Rodríguez, stressed her company’s commitment to Spanish basketball. “We have been sponsors of the Spanish men’s and women’s teams for years and we hope to continue being so. The Plaza 3×3 CaixaBank transmits the values ​​of self-improvement, teamwork, effort… We want to thank everyone who has made this spectacular day possible” , he pointed.

The delegate of the Andalusian Basketball Federation, Ricardo Bandrés, highlighted that on “an extraordinary Saturday” Granada has received them “with a magnificent day”. “Thanks to the City Council, CaixaBank and the Spanish Federation for bringing a great day of basketball like this to Andalusia,” he said.

Finally, Carlos Jiménez wanted to thank “the presence of all the participants and the support of the institutions that have made this event possible.” “For the FEB, everything that encourages the practice of basketball is extremely important, and even more so if it is accompanied by values ​​such as healthy living and good habits for young people,” he explained.

The FEB launched the Plaza 3×3 program in 2012, from its first edition by CaixaBank. Since its inception, the circuit has reached 101 stops, 45,000 participants and 225,000 visitors, all in a total of 42 cities throughout Spain: A Coruña, Albacete, Alcalá de Henares, Alcázar de San Juan, Almendralejo, Almería, Ávila, Badajoz, Barcelona, ​​Bilbao, Burgos, Cáceres, Castellón, Cartagena, Córdoba, Gijón, Guadalajara, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Jerez de la Frontera, León, Leganés, L’Hospitalet, Logroño, Madrid, Málaga, Melilla, Murcia, Palma of Mallorca, Pamplona, ​​Plasencia, San Sebastián, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Santander, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia, Seville, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Terrassa, Valencia, Zaragoza and Zarautz.
