Granada and Celta only deserve one point

Granada and Celta signed a fair draw at Nuevo Los Cármenes after a goalless game, very even forces and with few dangerous occasions. A tie that keeps both teams separated by four points, the Nazarí three from the ‘Europe zone’, and the Galician, increasingly away from it after failing to win in 2021.

Very few things were left to us by both teams in the first 45 minutes. So much so that the goalkeepers were privileged spectators on the pitch. Celta quickly took possession of the ball but this did not lead to creating danger. Only a shot by Fran Beltrán that had a good response from Rui Silva was the only occasion before the break for the celestial team, to which the reappearance of Iago Aspas after 26 days off due to injury did not improve their offensive performance.

Nor did Granada do much more in the attacking section, as a deflected kick from Kenedy and one from Foulquier that was cleared by Rubén Blanco was all their baggage. The absence in the core of Eteki (suspended) and Gonalons and Luis Milla (injured) seemed to accuse them, as well as the fact that it is the team of the highest category that has played the most games to date (34).

After passing through the changing rooms, Celta started pushing a bit more in attack, with shots from Nolito and Aspas, but Granada, immediately afterwards, was also seen in the final meters by making Rubén Blanco work with two shots from Foulquier and Machís.

Diego Martínez and Eduardo Coudet looked for more gunpowder by putting Soldado and the winter signing Augusto Solari on the field, who debuted, respectively. The newcomers did not manage, far from it, to revolutionize their teams, although Granada was the one that came closest to scoring in a direct free kick by Kenedy that made Rubén Blanco shine. In the end, the 0-0 remained immovable and the distribution of points ended up being the most equitable result.

THE BEST the reappearance of Iago Aspas after 26 days off due to injury
WORST The lack of aim of both teams in the rival areas
